CAN network in power steering is used to send many parameters for steering ECU (actual speed, rotation angle of steering wheel on version with ESP) and CAN is located on pins #6 and #14 (Lo and Hi). Diagnostic K-line goes from power steering ECU to interface to pin #12. Try to solder pin #7 in your plug with pin #12 and then test it. Check the schematics attached and give me a feedback.
M010 = engine, pin #7
M047 = ABS+ESP, pin #1
M086 = power steering, pin #12 and also CAN network (look below)

My problem was very simple to solve - power connector on pump was a little bit rusty and loose. Some mechanical works helped a lot. Now over 2 weeks with power steering working :) But you need to work there from below of the car...

Thanks Gibom2000,

I already checked the plug of the pump and everything was ok.

The symptoms of the malfunction are from time to time the steering gets stuck for fractions of second and after goes normal again. One of the time the MILF of the steering went on that is why I want to see what DTC is now stored.

I am going to modify the plug and after I will post the results.

Alfiat

In my case in the socket there was water and I also had some "stops" in work of power steering until it totally stopped. Try to use some anti-adhesive chemicals to clean and remove moisture and then seal the plug/socket. Then check it on diagnostic software. Should help ;)

Please try to make a connection to pin 12 and post the results.
I thought that it is on pin 9 as the other EPS ECUs, but it seems that in Croma the power steering ECU is located in the engine compartment, and the ECUs from engine compartment are usually connected to pin 12 of the diagnostic connector.

It is confirmed.

As gibom2000 mentioned the pin to connect TRW steering in Croma is 12.
So it is necessary to make the modification on ELM connecting the 12 with for instance 7.

I did the modification and connected perfectly with steering.

Yani,

Change in the supported vehicles in Croma from TRW stering ELM9 to ELM12.

Pin 12... now that is a bummer.

Hopefully connecting pins 1,7,9 AND 12 together will not be a problem. (leaving K line airbags isolated on 3)

Having fully implemented 4 pin DIP control to 1,3,7 & 9 I've run out of DIP switches so will have to look at linking 12 to either 1,7 or 9.

Not ideal but I guess this actually highlights the need/use use of a more universal "interconnect patch" box. At least by going down this route one never needs to modify any hardware one buys and one can configure any pin interconnect combination for any make of car as required.

Yani,

Just to confirm yours suspicious in CROMA the TRW steering ECU is placed on the hydraulic pump inside engine bay as you can see in the photo.
