Fiat New Croma - power steering

Post by gibon2000 »

Recently I have a problem with power steering in my Fiat Croma 2006. I wanted to connect to power steering pump through K-line using FES but it doesn't support my car. I have pin 1, 3, 7 connected together in VAG plug and I tried to do it by using Fiat Idea settings (as I remember...) but nothing happened - no connection.
I also checked electric schematics in eLearn program and I noticed that in Croma power steering K-line goes from connector C to main computer M001and there can be diagnosed on pin #12. I also tried that but nothing happened...
Or my power pump is completely dead (I have no power steering at all, sometimes red sign of steering wheel blinks) or I do something wrong with hard/software?
Can you help how to connect to power steering? I upload attachments with some schematics.

As I can remember you have to solder a short wire between pins 1-7-9 of your interface's OBD connector in order to connect to ABS and Power steering ECUs NOT a pins 1-3-7!!!

Small mistake: connected pins are 1-7-9. I didn't connect with pin #3 (airbags). But still no answer from ECU (when #12 is connected to #7 - also).

OK.

I have a Croma 05 so I'll check myself when I get a chance, probably not till Friday/this weekend.

I'll try with both VAG and Elm interfaces.

Also gives me an excuse to check my Gendan patch cables.

OK.

Have tried both VAG and Elm and NO Power Steering listed. SCAN reports some unsupported units/ISO codes but no ability to connect.

Looks like you'll have to wait till Yani supports the power steering unit.

Sorry.

The support for FIat Croma power steering is already implemented in next version. You have to wait 10-15 days for its release.

Thanks Yani! Do I need to modify my VAG cable? Connected pins 1-7-9 will be OK?

Yani,

I already did the update from 2.4 registered to 2.5 and went to my father Croma 07 plate in order to connect to the faulty power steering.
When I try to connect to steering it gives me fault connection between ELM and ECU.
I have the ELM modified in terms of pins 1, 7 and 9 but I think that for this car the steering is in the CAN network.
I connect to the CAN network and everything was OK and on the network the steering is in the CAN network.

I sent to FES server the SCAN report.
Give some help on this.

Regards,
Alfiat
