What kind of hardware to buy

Post by mni »

Hello I am new in this forum.

I have a question: I want to find out what type of hardware to buy, when I want to connect the Airbag system in my Fiat Bravo year 1999, 1.2 - 16 - 80Hp.

I have been looking for a universal system using the ELM 327 (1.5a) working with following OBD-II protocols:
• ISO15765-4 (CAN) • ISO14230-4 (KWP2000) • ISO9141-2 • J1850 VPW • J1850 PWM

I will use the ISO9141-2 protocol and make the wire connection as following:

On the 16 pin obd2 connector use the following pins

4- chassis ground (connect to ground on 3 pin connector, or any good chassis earth)
5- signal ground (connect to black wire pin on 3 pin connector)
7- k line (connect to white wire pin on 3 pin connector)
16- 12vDC (connect to battery positive terminal)

Maybe someone can help?

Regards

Hello

In `your Brava, 99, My97 airbag control unit is installed.
to access it you need a KKL interface
With the ELM, you can not access to the control unit My97.
The ELM does not work with the correct Protocol ad

The assignment you've described would have to be factual and correct
The 3 pin connector is occupied
1 = L-line
2 = Ground
3 = K-line

Hello Alfaeddy and Alfa156sarajevo,

Thanks a lot for the quick and qualified response on my questions?

Afterwards I have been searching on the multiecuscan web and found out, what type of possible connections’ I can use on my Bravo 1.2 -16 year 1999.

http://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx

I have been looking, on the web, to find a VAG COM KKL 409 and found one here in Denmark.

KKL Ver 409.1 VAG-COM VW/AUDI OBD II 2 Interface cable (price about 30 euros)

When I want to connect this modem to the Multiecuscan software, is there anything I have to take care of, borate or something else.

The pin no you have explained in the Fiat plug are 1 = L-line, 2 = Ground, 3 = K-line.

I have no idea do you have import taxes in Denmark, but you can purchase one of VAG COM KKL 409 cables from China.
They are really cheap! Prices starts from 8 USD (7€) and up. Here is the web link:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=vag ... m270.l1313

And also you can find 3 pin adaptor also on the eBay for a 6,50 USD (5,50€). Here is the web link:

Cheers ;)
