Alfa GTV 2.0 16V TS 2/98 Airbag lamp

Post by FcnPat »

Sorry for bad english.

Anyone can help me to delete the airbag lamp in my GTV?

I have a KKL Interface, adapter to 3 Pin diagnose port, but multiecuscan will don`t connect.

Technical details:

- Alfa GTV 2.0 16V TS (before facelift)
- Ecu: Bosch Motronic Version M2.10.3 or M2.10.4
- Airbag: TRW My97 or My99
- Diagnose Port: 3 Pin
- Diagnose port Ecu: 3 Pin with K-line (red/white) and ground (black) positive connect with sofware KW71
- Diagnose port airbag: 3 Pin with K-line (red-white), ground (black) and L-line (blue/white)
- KKL interface with USB and selfmade 3 Pin adapter.
- found 3 diagnose port in this car. Ecu=passenger seat, ABS=Motor...... and airbag under the backside seat.

I connect K-line (interface) with K-line (diagnose port), ground (interface) with ground (diagnose port) and +12V with batterie. multiecuscan will dont connect with airbag control unit.

i need L-line connect too?

Anyone can help me to delete this fu***** airbag lamp?

Same problem here,
I've tried on several pre-1998 916 spiders with no luck.
Has anyone here ever managed?

Thanks

Hello

It can only lie in the settings.

Have you checked your settings?
KKL interface set?
Com port setting?
In the Control Panel, the latency is set to 1?

What error is displayed?

Hi Eddy,
I've got to check the latency setting when I get back to the garage on Monday.
However I've always managed to connect to airbag using MY97 on post 1998 cars, like the 156,166 and CF2 916 spiders & gtvs.
If I remember correctly, the error displayed is something like "cannot connect to ecu"

Thanks

Hi

@ argtv6
@ FcnPat

I can think of yet!

Since you also sure that in your Alfa, a 97 My airbag system is installed?

Could it not be there in another TRW2 GTV Airbag system is installed.?
And on this you can not get a connection with FES.

Please check the settings and perform a scan

Greetings Eddy

Hi Eddy,
this seems to be the most probable reason and I'll try and confirm this tomorrow.
In the meantime I'll post a feature request for the TRW2 airbag with pretensioners.
Thanks again.

Put a little piece of tape over the indicator light, and no more problem.

I've also heard solutions from others in the group. The cable
is apparantly under the drivers seat, make sure is hasn't come loose
and reconnect it. Problem is that even if you do that the airbags still
have to be reset by the dealer via computer. Try searching the group
for other poss solutions but if thats correct then it'll have to be a
dealer job.

Could be wrong but sounds like another common alfa problem to add to
the list. Had my 147 since Jan 2006, 5 dealer visits so far for
different problems, thinking of selling on already!
