Oil Change Parameters

Post by mjb_i »

I successfully installed a SGW bypass in order to execute an oil change update. I went to the Engine adjustments and followed the instructions to perform the oil change reset. With the SGW bypass, it executed properly. I also performed the other items including the self adaptation parameters reset. I turned off the car, as instructed, waited a minute, then went back in. When in parameters, the oil change counter, degradation and last oil change did not change from zero. Why is that? I repeated the sequence. Still no change in those parameters, although I advanced the miles to next oil change. How do I reset miles to next oil change, and also get the other parameters to register?

This is for a 2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.

Is the oil change counter at zero?

Pardon the late response. Yes, the counter is at zero. I did the reset function more than once, so the mileage notification advanced each time, but the counter did not. I waited until I was in for inspection to do the service reset. That worked fine. The oil counter and mileage are the only ones not registering correctly.

If the counter has reached zero it will indeed not show anything snymore for the oil change interval. I think they believe 9 oil changes are enough for the lifetime of the car :D :D

When it is not zero, doing a proxy alignment resets it to 10 again. I heard some people have succes with resetting it even though it already reached zero, others mention it will not reset anymore.

Curious what your experience will be
