Fiat 500 Cluster TFT - Enabling missing Features

Post by rodspower »

Hello Guys, how are you??

First of all , let me introduce myself, I'm from Brazil and a owner of a 2017 Fiat 500 Pop/Cult 1.4 8v.

I'm facing a few issues since I bought a TFT Digital Cluster from Europe Part Number 07357867610 , made in Slovakia (30/06/2023) and according to the part number came from a 2023 Fiat 595 Abarth.

I'm Owner of a Fiat 500 1.4 8v 2017 made in USA.

Here is the list of the problems :

1 - Headlight leveling
2 - TPMS Light Deactivated
3 - TPMS System does not display in Cluster

The purpose of this thread is to gather all the information and help to workaround this issues and make this thread the source of the missing information such as
Custom Proxy Encoding and the meaning of each of the bytes do without breaking the car.

Does anybody knows how to add the missing features using MultiEcuScan or Alfa OBD?

The funny part is when I try to Enable the TPMS light in "MES" it gives the error : "Defect . The ECU detected that the request contains parameter(s) with value(s) outside the permitted range"

I took the opportunity to get another proxy code from a 2015 Fiat 500 Cabrio 1.4 16v MultiAir made in USA that comes with the OEM TFT Cluster and all of the missing features was there

Sorry but simple question first, did the car come originally with direct TPMS? (sensors inside the tire)

No worries! Good Question , so I really don't know where the TPMS Sensor is , i presume that is inside the tire. I've seen people talking about the "indirect TPMS" but I'll go to a Tire Shop to confirm if the sensor is inside the tire. I'll let you know.

With indirect TPMS you can't see the pressure of the tires on the screen. It only gives you a notification when it is noticing an change in rotation speed of the tire. Indirect TPMS works with the abs sensors.

i`m going to share some screens about the configuration of TPMS, The OEM behavior is tire pressure warnlng light turn on. But when I try to activate the inside the MultiEcuScan ( Dashboard --> Instrument Panel Marelli TFT) gives the "out of range error". Another problem , when I access the Dashboard config screen there is a stored error (U1700-86 - No body computer).

What if you try to run proxy with both not present?

Hello!!

I did this ,but nothing happened. Both TPMS and ITPMS disabled, but the second drop down menu ( Premium, Logic 4) let me choose the "type of monitoring", I put the screen below.

I'm going to share what I did, I put the first TPMS as "PRESENT" and executed the proxy alignment. The good news , the Light of the Dashboard came up , Flashing and the center of the screen in the Cluster shows the Fiat 500 with tire , but nothing is displaying .

Images below :

1) DashBoard

2) Drop Down Menu, Types of monitoring

3) I Tried with both presents (TPMS + ITPMS) nothing changed

4) When I go in MES in System --> Other -- Tire Pressure Control (TPMS) , inside the module, When I click in the options , shows the current monitoring working, the question is , Does my car has the TPMS but I don't know which module shoud I use , in the drop down menu like :

Base , Logic 1
Base , Logic 2
Base , Logic 3
Base , Logic 4
Premium, Logic 1
Premium, Logic 2
Premium, Logic 3
Premium, Logic 4 --> Current Setup

TPMS System :

Other / TPMS (Tire Pressure Module)
Tire Pressure Control (TPMS)
ISO Code: F4 02 86 8A 5B
VIN code: 3C3AFFARXHT621090
Hardware number: 68214826AA - Ver: 05
Software number: 90551103 - Ver: 01A4

5) My current Proxy with TPMS Disabled

Well, I will try one of these options and see if it works

Base , Logic 1
Base , Logic 2
Base , Logic 3
Base , Logic 4
Premium, Logic 1
Premium, Logic 2
Premium, Logic 3
Premium, Logic 4 --> Current Setup

Updating the status :

I changed the TPMS to "Present"
I ran through all the options :

Base , Logic 1
Base , Logic 2
Base , Logic 3
Base , Logic 4
Premium, Logic 1
Premium, Logic 2
Premium, Logic 3
Premium, Logic 4 ---> Current Setup

Nothing Changed and the behavior still there, Tire pressure light flashing.

Fun fact , If I go to System --> DashBoard --> Instrument Panel Marellig TFT --> Actuators --> Tire pressure warning light

Now I can Disable the light or enable it in the cluster panel. When the TPMS was "Not Present" or with the ITPMS "Present" , the same option was giving "Failed to execute --> Out of range".

I begin to believe there some configuration in the cluster missing or some "bytes".

I'm still working in some solution!! =)

check wiring
When I changed the Old cluster to the new cluster , the plug and wiring (18 ways) was there, maybe different pins/wiring diagram?

I begin to believe that bcm don`t talk to the cluster and the cluster don`t recognize the TPMS Module or, maybe executing custom proxy I can work around this. If I can get the proxy code from a 2023 Fiat 595 Abarth , maybe I can translate to my car

See, I have this stored faults when scanning DTC`s

Body / BCM (Body Computer Module)
Body Computer Delphi (312) MY12
ISO Code: 40 83 EC 8A 0E
VIN code: 3C3AFFARXHT621090
Hardware number: P500L2EU304 - Ver: 03
Software number: 28486828 - Ver: 0702
Errors found:
U1703-86 - Instrument Panel node - Signal/message invalid
B10AA-4A - PROXI configuration control - Incorrect component installed

Dashboard / IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster)
Instrument Panel Marelli TFT
ISO Code: 00 03 40 25 14
Hardware number: 50019650001 - Ver: 00
Software number: 04005440562 - Ver: 0432
Errors found:
U1700-86 - No Body Computer - Signal/message invalid
U1706-86 - NFR Node absent - Signal/message invalid

and now My Odometer is Flashing =( , MeS is telling the proxy is correct and don`t need to be aligned

My current Proxy
