But it is just that: the interface reads the STANDARD and the pin 12 is not STANDARD (it's optional), so we do the "transcription" through the Adapter Cable.Racing Man wrote:That's pretty confusing me... So why in my interface pin 12 wasn't connected from the beginning?

If I may comment, that's why such changes need to be made by who knows the operation of these circuits.Racing Man wrote:That's pretty confusing me... So why in my interface pin 12 wasn't connected from the beginning?

I think in your case it is not necessary to connect the 12-7, only the others. Perform this test when correcting your switches...Racing Man wrote:That's pretty confusing me... So why in my interface pin 12 wasn't connected from the beginning?

hello
I have this CAN bus switchover in 2012
as realized
The instructions are in German though, but maybe you can help the
For xenon is simply a solder to make bridge from pin 7 to 12.
Finish looked the interface like this

Yes, but AFTER the switch! So when the switch 7 is OFF, it's like nothing is connected together.Waltomatic wrote:BUUUT you amended that wires together at some point, right?Racing Man wrote:I don't think... because when switch 7 is off, nothing is connected... The adapter cable, joint wire 7 from the circuit with pin 12 on the obd. On my interface there's NOT a wire 12 from the circuit that goes on pin 12!!Waltomatic wrote:But it is just that: the interface reads the STANDARD and the pin 12 is not STANDARD (it's optional), so we do the "transcription" through the Adapter Cable.Racing Man wrote:That's pretty confusing me... But in the adapter3 the wire 7 is connected on pin 12!! Otherwise pin 12 remain disconnected!!Waltomatic wrote:I think in your case it is not necessary to connect the 12-7, only the others. Be the connector side or the card side, if these wires are joined you need a circuit detour when they should be separated, right? If you want use only ONE switch to it is physically impossible.Racing Man wrote:Yes, but AFTER the switch! This is one more proof that your connection is wrong (you did not think of it before). I advise you to turn it off and redo following my diagram, forgetting the Adapter Cable 1 for now. MAYBE pin 12 not necessary to read the CAN network of 500, check. If it really is not necessary, you can even use a smaller dip switch (4 way). Anyway, AFTER this connection works, we can think of an alternative. But the same right would buy a Adapter Cable 1, that NOT NEED wire connected to pin 12 in the interface.Racing Man wrote: The adapter cable, joint wire 7 from the circuit with pin 12 on the obd.
