Cannot Access Airbags for 1.6 Stilo - Have correct interface

Post by BurkeyL »

Hi,

I just bought the complete recommended cable set - ELM 327 with the different colored adapteres -red, yellow, green and the blue vag kkl -

I cannot connect to the Airbag control for my 2002 stilo 1.6. I have installed it correctly, and the driver....Have changed the latency as per the pdf "how to use" guide.

If it was cheap ebay cables I would understand but I bought them here http://www.idiagnostics.co.uk/ - it states 100% coverage for MultiECUScan.

Any ideas?

Hello

You need for your airbag control unit, a KKL interface!
and the red Adapter
With the ELM you can read on the silo no airbag

Figured out you use the vag kkl and red adapter, not the ELM. Pretty crap instructions all round. Good software though.

The Supported Vehicle Table clearly states to use KL3 (KL 3 - KKL/VagCom interface with ADAPTER CABLE 2 (or modified interface with K-line connected to pin 3)) and A2 (adapter cable 2).

Also the software does tell when you select the Air Bag system to "CONNECT ADAPTOR2/RED (OR PIN3)" and "PRESS Y TO CONFIRM".

All pretty clear to me.

I'll grant you the software could have said "USE KKL INTERFACE AND CONNECT ADAPTOR2/RED (OR PIN3)" and "PRESS Y TO CONFIRM" so maybe this is something that can be changed.
