FIAT Ducato without Airbag, retrofit, PROXI Alignment

Hi all,

a good friend of me got a 2.2 HDI Citroën Jumper from 2015 with MANUAL Transmission and a prototype/camper like car from FIAT(Carthago?) with 3.0MJD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.

The Jumper had a blown engine, so he put all wiring loom over to the Jumper chassis from the camper chassis(my14/15 facelift) and swapped 2.2 against 3.0 engine.

Everything works fine for him beside of the Airbag, he did not find the connector to install the airbag ecu, once I investigated both looms and found out that it strictly does not have an Airbag connector.
I removed it from the old loom and added it to the FIAT wiring loom and I can perfectly access the ECU via Multiecuscan, but the PROXI Alignment does fail.
Every time it fails on Airbag Module. Multiecuscan says: Airbag (NAB) - EOL Failed.

In case if I install the BCM of the Jumper, I can perfectly do the PROXI Alignment for AIRBAG with that modified wiring loom, but what does fail in this case is the AUTOMATIC Transmission can't be PROXI aligned.

Now the key question is, do we need a newer Airbag ecu, or can we do manual TELECODING or maybe FLASH newer Software to BCM?
How are software updates done on FIAT cars, which Diag Software?

I have various Diag heads, x431, ELM, FVDI/SVCI, various Programmers like Carprog/xprog/UPA/eeprom readers...MultiECUscan.

Just share your proxi configuration
In proxi settings press together Alt+Ctrl+C and copy the tab...
After adding Airbag ECU you have to set airbags config into proxi code..
So how many airbags are in car?
How many pretensioners?
How many seat belt lockers? It means 2 passengers or 3 passengers on front seats?

We have driver seat and separately two passengers, we have one driver airbag, we have airbag connector only on driver seat.

I will disconnect and repeat this procedure to gain the raw config again, but I think it will be the same output

While i was formatting my message and adding the texts into code brackets, it went trough the proxi alignment, what i did was to change byte 68 from 00 to 01 and redo the alignment

Hey there,

im sorry for spaming but I thought I show the people how I proceeded.
The airbag error is gone, that is fine but there are so many other problems we had or still have.
I could correct the ABS/ESC coding aswell, we had to change the buttons in the center.
The headlamp leveling does work also now and we also have remaining mileage on the dashboard.

What does not work as for now is that we can not set the date and time, we cant access the dashboards settings menu via the MODE button as it does not react.
The time is blinking in the dashboard.
As for the average consumption, we need to test if that does work again now.

I guess these problems are relying to still some proxi coding issue, as a few ECUs have different kind of errors.
