Hi,
I removed the stop and start module fitted on the negative pole of the battery of my Punto Evo Abarth;
After setting the stop and start function on " not present", I did the proxy alignment procedure, not successfull as far as I can see, and now it's impossible to start the engine[/u]. The battery is 12.2 V. The headlights are working normally.
May I try again?
Thanks for your help
Engine won't start after proxy alignment procedure
Re: Engine won't start after proxy alignment procedure
Not a direct answer to your question but the module on the negative terminal is only (to my understanding) there for monitoring the battery drain and charging currents. With this and other info, e.g. voltage and various system/engine demands (e.g. cabin climate vs requested climate condition) then the vehicle can determine if the Start Stop should be deployed or not.
In addition I do not think the module on negative terminal (as above) is CAN connected and affected by PROXI alignment.
If I were you I would put the module back, turn the start/stop back on and see if the car starts. If not try the PROXI again and see if the car will start.

Thanks for the info, I have done the reverse procedure and the engine starts again.

Thanks for reporting back to say reversing the procedure has got you back up and running. Will be a guide/help to others.
