Hello,
I've just noticed a new function under "Adjustments" section on Grande Punto 1.4 turbo
Engine ecu me7.9.10
You can disable the performance limit function.
"This function limits the torque to 40% max......."
What this function is all about?
I thought it is the function that limit the engine power when a sensor/engine failure occour, but someone told me it's a factory setting that every car has until it is given to the customer for the very first time.
Anyone know the thruth?
Thanks
performance limit function, what's that?
Re: performance limit function, what's that?
Well the MES info/description is:
This procedure will deactivate the "performance limit" function. The engine torque is limited to 40% when this function is active.
Please note that this operation can be performed only once and the function cannot be re-activated anymore.
This would be consistent with a sensible Presales/Pre-delivery status of the car and it is removed during the PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection & Preparation by the dealer).

Re: performance limit function, what's that?
I will add, the function is used only in some engines, for example 0.9 Twin air, and 1.4 Abarth.I for correction: it can be turned on, but only if the car has a mileage less than 200 km, above this mileage, the function is not available Now, if the dealer does not turn it off, after driving 200 km, it will automatically be deactivated.
