Hi all
I was hoping someone could help me. I have been trying to get to grips with connecting my car to my computer, using a modified elm connector and the multiecuscan free version. I'm driving an alfa romeo 1.9jts.
I have been having trouble connecting, and when I finally thought I was getting somewhere, I got an error message saying that the free version doesn't support my module and I would have to get the paid version! It seems a bit unfair to allow certain vehicles a free version and others not.
I have attached the screenshot so you can see.
Anyone got any tips? I don't really want to splash out on a paid version until I know for sure it actually works.
Thanks!
Gavin

Re: connection problems! :(
I got the same thing when trying the free version on my Alfa. Sorta logs in for a few seconds then back to the home screen. If I buy the registration key will it stay connected. I can't be sure if I'm actually connected. Am I right to assume that if I get the message as on the above screen shot I am connected?
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you check the Supported Vehicles List ( http://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx ) you will see that *ALL* the modules for the 159 JTS are listed in RED. This means that they are all CANBUS modules.
MES has always required a paid license to access CANBUS modules. Some cars have a mixture of interface types ( see Alfa 156 for example) so the Free version of MES will talk to those modules listed in Black but not those listed in Red.
The only discrimination MES is doing regarding free / paid version is solely based on CANBUS criteria.
