Good evening everyone, my first post here after failing for a week to get MES to talk to any of my Alfa Romeos!
I own an Alfa Romeo 155 V6 which requires a 3 pin adapter - selecting any of the engine options doesn't get the software speaking, even though I've tested the interface - what am I doing wrong?
I also have a problem with my GTV, which is a 1999 3.0 V6 - this car has an OBD socket under the dash (near the steering wheel) which doesn't appear to need a 3 pin adapter - why do all the options for 3.0 v6 GTV ask for the 3 pin adapter? I have tried plugging the VAGcom straight into the OBD socket, and it lights the LED - but again, no response from the ECU!
I really hoped that I would be up and running by now, but can't get any connections going.
Help!

Re: Connection issues with 1999 GTV 3.0
Hi,
I have the same problem with my GTV 99, Motronic 2.1.
Every time i try to connect I got the message of connect the 3 pin connector but I have the 16 pin obd.
I was able to connect to airbag and abs using a modified KL-cable, I ignored the 3 pin message and pressed continue and was able to connect with the ecu. But when i was doing the same thing when trying to connect to engine management I get a message that it´s not possible in the free version. I have no problem with bying a registration for 50 euro but if I do so i need to be sure it works with my car.
