Deactivate Emergency Stop Signal
Posted: 18 Apr 2013, 08:59
Hello Yani,
I was trying to deactivate the Emergency Stop Signal ESS (Blinking of indicators when you hard press the brake).
I thought it was a function in ECU, but unfortunately it is not.
The ESS will be handled by the Body Computer.
The BC monitors following conditions:
- deceleration >7 m/s² (+/-0,5 m/s²)
- vehicle speed >50 km/h
- no blinking light active
- vehicle speed sensor not damaged
If all of these conditions are true, BC will start sending the signal for ESS.
They will blink with a higher frequency than normal blinking.
If BC recognize a deceleration <2,5 m/s² (+/-0,5 m/s²) it will stop generating ESS.
Now my question is:
do you have access to single areas in BC memory?
I suggest to rise up the vehicle speed condition of >50km/h to e.g. 150 km/h or 200 km/h
I'm fully to your disposal and would like to help wherever it is possible.
Best regards
Luca
