Fiat Punto Please Help

Hello I hope someone can point me in the right direction I left my car all winter Punto Evo 2010 and when I came to use it it was a bit lumpy and the odometer is flashing. I have since noticed my fuel gauge is not working correctly it just moves slightly when I start the car but stays on a quarter of tank. I was thinking about doing a Proxi alignment but I haven't heard anyone mention dodgey fuel gauges ? Your help would be invaluable . Nick
