Fiat Uno 1.0ie assembled in poland 2000, Bosch MA1.7

Post by ultraszatanfire »

Hi. I'm totally new into car ECU diagnostics though I am involved with electronics and software programming.

I bought this interface + 3pin adapter for fiat:

http://allegro.pl/interfejs-multiecusca ... 53387.html

will MultiEcuScan work with Fiat Uno 1.0ie running on Bosch MA1.7 using that interface?

UNO with this ECU was made only in Poland around 1998-2000.

same question applies to FSO Polonez PLUS 1.6 GLI made 1997-circa 2000, also with MA1.7

I need to know this because I'd like to return it ASAP in case I cannot diagnose my own car.

Try this: http://www.obdtester.com/ficom-eculist/fiat/uno
It should be good for your uno, but it is expensive...

it is listed here :

http://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx

as

Bosch Monomotronic MA1.7.3 Injection

for cars like Bravo/Brava 1.4 12V and some other with this engine

but again there is another problem, ODB -> 3-pin is not supported for free edition so I cannot even test if my Uno will work at all ;/

Today I tried to connect to my uno and I managed to connect sucessfully.

Can I assume what I've read is trustworthy?
For sure engine revs were readed correctly but engine temperature at 40'c (while radiator fan turned on) and air temperatura at 1'c (circa 20'c outside) doesn't seem true.

moreover there were 6 errors, I cleared them all.

engine running idle gave cca 140mV at lambda.

What car make/model did you use to connect to your car?
Did you get "Invalid ISO code" message?
What is the ISO code of your MA1.7?

Bravo/Brava 1.4 12V

there was ISO code error.

I cannot read out ISO right now, maybe tomorrow I'll try to connect to Uno again.

this is photo of ECU if it helps: http://img06.allegroimg.pl/photos/orygi ... 2586414166
code on the tin is: 0 261 204 822

I also bought FSO Polonez 1.6 GLI ECU, here is photo: http://img16.allegroimg.pl/photos/orygi ... 2577708317

I thought you need a Bosch Monomotronic MA1.7 not a Bosch Monomotronic MA1.7.3...
Maybe that is why you are getting message: invalid ISO code...
As far as I know your Uno do have a Bosch Monomotronic MA1.7 engine ecu!

that's true, it is listed as MA1.7 actually...

I'm totally new to car diagnostics, never did that myself, today was my first attempt ever at doing that.

I don't even know if there is any sigificant difference between 1.7 and 1.7.3

And honestly I don't know what does _actually_ that ISO error mean :P

at some Polish uno concerned forum thay said it's possible to connect to uno using interface I bought (KKL USB / fiat ecu scan).
They mentioned about software for FSO Polonez though I havent tried that.

Hello again

I attached ISO code I read out from first page.

maybe it's not directly connected with what we are talking about, but here is another, Polish made software to diagnose MA17 working with FSO Polonez:

I still have to fix problems with very frequent disconnects.
