Devices performance test + pids priority

Post by EnIgMa »

Hello,
As you're coding this software you do know well all those rs232/elm and whatever protocols and devices. do you? :)

As i know elm327 should support various speed/latency or stuff like that.
Is it possible to add a "performance" test into settings window to perform and automatic test?
So FES can automatically determine the best settings for each device we use...

Maybe a couple of sets.
One for pure performance even if there a certain amount of errors
One for best stability or "reliability" of data

Because you know, sometimes more data per seconds you get, the better :)
What do you think Yani? :)

Then, related to what i just said above:
is it possible to set a priority for each parameter?
For example I want to datalog rpm/boost and air temperature...
First 2 parameters vary very quickly but the third one does not.
So it's a kind of waste to read the temperature every cycle of readings...

If i could set 1^ priority for rpm and boost and 10^ to temp. it could read rpm/boost each cycle BUT air temp. every 10 cycles...

or another example would be
spark advance every cycle (so 1st priority)
engine load (2nd...every 2 cycle)
and air temp. (20^...every 20 cycle)

Playing with cycles reading you can almost get a lot of data where needed and less where the value changes slowly...

cheers :D

I already know that software, but is a generic one for fiat/alfa cars... somewhere else in this forum I suggest the "map" function to Yani :)
By the way a can't get it working correctly on my device...
