Airbag Connection problem

Hi guys.. I have a Alfa 147 with the airbag light permanently on, I want to connect using FEC and my ELM327, but when hitting connect I get a direct message saying you need K-Line or Vag-com for this function.
now.. is this true? I thought I could use ELM device for all the ECU functions with FEC? is there a different method? My cable can connect to anything else on the car, Body, ABS, Engine, Gearbox, etc. but Airbag is a no no

Yes, it's true. From the supported vehicles list:
SIEMENS MY99 Airbag (2F-2P-2L-2T-I) |INFO|DTC|PRM|ACT| KL 3 OBDKey 3 A2
No mention of ELM there.

Some modules can be accessed with both the ELM and the KKL, others require specific features of one lead that are not supported by the other.
From memory the OBDKey interface supports everything, but it's more expensive than buying an ELM and a KKL, so swings and roundabouts...
