I'm brand new to OBD, but I did manage to get FES to work (for the most part) on my 2007 Alfa Spider 2.2 JTS. My car is not directly supported but the Brera 2.2 JTS menu selection works pretty well except for the body computer. I've tried several other cars and discovered that I can read my body computer; however, my knowledge of such things is very limited. For example, I'm not exactly sure which functions are missing that might be there if the Spider were fully supported.
What FES supported vehicle should I select to be the best match for my non-supported Alfa Spider?
The most complex component of the car is the top. It has miles of wires, miles of hydraulic tubing, countless hydraulic and electric actuators, and no telling how many micro switches and Hall effect switches. Naturally, it is the only component which doesn't work properly.
Is it possible for me to diagnose top malfunctions via the body computer or is there a special computer for the convertible top?
I'm open to suggestions about the possibility of how to communicate with my intermittent convertible top.
