Proxy alignment 2001 punto 1.2 8v

Just completed a proxy alignment on my sons 2001 punto 1.2 8v
he had replaced the dash with one that has a rev counter and
temp guage.
Software states at the end Failed to Exicute but the dash has
stopped flashing. The new dash however had a lower milage on
than the old one a drop of 17000 miles should the proxy alignment
have copied the miles from the body computer and registered the
higher milage?

No, PROXI alignment does not change the mileage.
There is a separate function which allows you to program the mileage in a dashboard. However, this function is not available in Multiecuscan yet.
