Hello all! I have an '96 Alfa 145 2.0L with the bosch motronic 2.10.x ECU (some of you may have seen it on the dec' 2010 cover of Classic and Sports Car )
I am trying to reset the aribag light on the dash.
Since I've tried this many times using different systems (uniscan 1.83, tsdiag, alfadiag) and failed I thought i'd give multiecuscan a try!
Now then, due to my playing about with uniscan 1.83, I have 2 socketcom serial cards. These work great in DOS and Windows and there are no driver issues.
I have seen lots of of configuration info for the FTDI chip based cables but none for serial. What setting should I use? I cannot decrease the buffer size and I cannot connect at 10400bps...is this an issue?
In the past I've successfully connected Uniscan on my laptop (i must be one of the few in the UK that managed it!) with the engine ECU. However I get no response from either airbag or bosch ECU in multiecuscan.
Is there a way to see a more "verbose" connection screen?

Re: Advice for Serial to OBD connection on Bosch Motronic 2.
P.S I have a serial to OBD and OBD to fiat 3-pin cable. These are just cheap ebay jobbies but I have checked continuity on the cable and i have the following:
Serial 9-pin | OBD | Fiat 3 Pin Looking at it with the pin safety tab on the right, (Pin1¤ Pin2¤¦ Pin3¤)
4 ============> 7 ========>Pin 3 (K-line?)
1=============> 5 ========>Pin 2 (Middle pin) + Black crocodile clip (not all fiat 3 pin cables have this)
2=============> 4 ========>Pin 2 (Middle pin) + Black crocodile clip (not all fiat 3 pin cables have this)
8=============> 15 ========>Pin 1 (L-line?)
9=============> 16 ========>Red crocodile clip (Should i be worried about passing 12V into my card?)

Re: Settings for serial connection
So you have an OBD cable (interface) with serial connector (not a USB)?
What kind of OBD cable (interface) do you have?
The only thing that I know about VAG COM KKL SERIAL interfaces that they do not work on WIN. 7 or WIN. VISTA!
They need an older operating system!
