Ducato - Unable to proxy align a new air bag module

Post by TrevMcRev »

2015 Ducato (type 290) 2.3 Multijet (Campervan)
Had the airbag module sent away to Crash-Data twice, but each time it failed again, so we bought a new unit, which whilst not identical, we are told that it is compatible, but after installing it shows the airbag warning light
When running Multiecuscan, it identifies the module correctly
We can clear the error code regarding it needing a proxy align (the only error code it finds) but after numerous attempts to run the proxy alignment procedure, it continues to fail with the info screen showing "Airbag Node (NAB/ORC) = EOL Failed". All other nodes respond to show OK
These are some of the errors we have seen
While its writing the Proxi Data, the line "Airbag Node (NAB/ORC).... Failed! - Request out of range error" pops up
Similarly, on the Entertainment Node (ETM) its says "Failed! - Timeout error", and again on the dashboard node "Failed!... Timeout error"
Another error message "Failed to execute" Body Computer Node (BCM/NBC) Failed" - Timeout error
We've run a scan on the interface and it correctly identified the OBDLink LX Bluetooth that we are using and says "Completed", which I understand means that its using the interface correctly
We are running the latest copy of MultiECUScan on a Windows 10 laptop over bluetooth
It feels like we are missing a step, just not sure what
Any suggestions please?
Thanks, Trev

As we're not sure if this is down to the kit we're using, I've ordered a Vgate vLinker FS OBD2 USB Adapter to avoid using bluetooth and a new yellow adaptor, just in that's at fault
Going to test the current kit on my Peugeot Boxer tomorrow, so one way or another we will know if its the Ducato electrics or the scan kit at fault and stopping us getting a good proxy alignment on the Ducato

Ran OK on our 2020 2.2ltr Peugeot Boxer, but had to choose the Ducato (type 290) 2.3 Multijet as vehicle model to get it to run correctly
It returned to say Proxy Alignment not required and then correctly listed the modules
So, we take it to mean there is an issue on the Ducato with the new module
Thinking to cut our losses and send it to crash data for them to configure it for us

hi,
Main problem is in proxi configuration, your airbag module (ORC) asks for specific settings.
Check feslog file after proxi alignment and read which value is ORC asking for...
...and release all seatbelts before alignment

Or share feslog for check...

Hello there
Not sure what the feslog is, might you mean the "vehicle diagnostics report" that it exports as a PDF?
If yes, its attached above
And, I think the detail you mention might be the following?
[102A] errors - Byte 59: 0B->0A
Thanks

So, we decided to cut our losses and send it to crash data for them to configure it for us as things were taking too long when we need to use the camper
It came back today and everything is fine now
Thanks for the suggestions along the way
