Crashed Laptop after using MultiEcuScan
Crashed Laptop after using MultiEcuScan
I use MultiEcuScan with a wired elm327. After using MultiEcuScan and performing a Proxy Alignment my laptop crashed. It doesn't work anymore and the motherboard is broken. Could this have happened while using MultiEcuScan by means of a peak voltage or am I just unlucky. Should I use a bluetooth elm327 to be sure and if so which one should I buy?
Re: Crashed Laptop after using MultiEcuScan
nothing to do with MES. it's simple hardware problem - just bad luck.
Re: Crashed Laptop after using MultiEcuScan
Thanks for your answer. Could it also have happened because I had connected the laptop to the obd2 port of the car, and while reading the car a peak voltage came through the cable after I restarted the car. The computer shop told me that he has already had several broken computers by reading the car by means of a wired elm327
Is it therefore perhaps safer to use a bluetooth module?

without further investigation it's hard to determine the cause: could be spike from car, could be faulty adapter, bad/loose USB port, laptop.
usually I try not to crank car with diagnostic plugged in when I know car battery is very weak.
