Are Old Versions (V5.1) Free?

Post by Intrepid Bun »

Hello, Newbie here.

I've just purchased a Diagnostic USB Cable ELM 327 Modified & Suitable For MultiEcuScan V5.1 to use on my Alfa Giulietta. I wasn't sure if the V5.1 'old' version that appears on the site is free to download now that the new V5.3 has been released? Asking the same question another way, are the old versions free and do they include the full licensed software? Apologies if this information is somewhere obvious and I've missed it. Many Thanks

All versions of MES are Free however as noted in the Vehicle Support listings some cars & nodes have full free support and others (mainly CAN Bus functions) require a paid for License.

So you can download and run V5.1 (or any older version) but node/module support may require a license.

To my knowledge is say an engine ECU was supported with no license required in a previous versions of MES then later still support that ECU with no license required. Version 5.3 may fix a bug that was in 5.1 so going with 5.3 is probably better. That said all software had have regressions :)

The SAD/BAD news for you is that according to this: https://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx all the Giulietta systems require a License (they are all in RED).
