Giulia Proxi Failure - Timout all modules

Post by SpitfireMike »

Hi,

I've just installed paddle shifter on my UK Giulia (2017, no SGW).
The change executes fine, when trying to complete a proxi alignment afterwards to write the change, every single module fails due to timeout.
I have changed the USB com port settings as advised with the ELM 327 cable & adaptors I bought.

Any help/ideas welcome please?
I tried to add a pic but it says the board quota has been reached....

Thanks,
Mike

ELM327 set as high-speed in MES?

ELM was set to high speed, yes.

I'm using a Windows 11 laptop, Wired ELM, Registered licence, port speed set to 38400 in Windows and in MES

I eventually got it to work after about 7-8 attempts. Turning car on/off/waiting and even restarting laptop between each one.

I don't know why it eventually worked but the amount of time it took, I'll be happy if I never have to do it again haha.

If anyone has any insights as to why it wasn't behaving, incase I have to do an alignment in future?

Thanks,
Mike

could be ELM327 poor quality, could be drivers. have you set correct latency for USB under device manager?

Yes, I set it to 1 as per instructions.
I followed screenshots in the guide, the ELM was £33 on ebay and came with drivers so maybe it's the cable but it was a well reviewed product/seller.
