DPF delete

it would be great if the DPF can be deleted from ECU using multiecuscan
It is common practice to remove the DPF.

Hi,
with FES you can not deactivate the DPF (regeneration). You have to flash the ECU with modified software. I can do the modification for you. PN me or google for EVOJET JTD.

I have about the same request.

First I have a Suzuki SX4 1.9DDiS. Seems to be a clone of the Fiat Sedici and indeed, I just managed to connect to the ECU using Multiecuscan and ELM327 USB interface.
I could monitor the ECU and reset errors codes as indeed I had some related to EGR, Air flow sensor ...

I bought this car 5 months ago, ran fine till last month when I got an engine check warning, 50km after loss of power then total death. Had to be towed to the garage. Diagnosis, DPF) clogged, needs to be replaced, bill 3000€ ! NO WAY; So the mechanic investigated further, replaced the air flow sensor (as there was an error in the log), plugs, forced regeneration, updated to the latest firmware. Fine for 1400km, then again the engine check indicator and same symptoms ! This time, as soon I had the indicator, I stopped the car along the road, crawl under it and unbolted the DPF intake to let the exhaust gases out. I didn't want to spoil the DPF further. To my great surprise, I managed to drive more than 200km without any incident or power loss. Engine was responding properly.

I am a retired engineer, and wasn't impressed by the giberish from Suszuki tech. (look like they confuse causes and results, replacing parts at random obeying the computer "errors" codes).
I spend some time researching about these DPF and was taken abash, really ! Plus I couldn't accept to pay 3000€ to please the Green mafia.

DPFs are a non sense in fact and the protoclo to regenerate it is far from fail safe ! Gee, you have to wait for it to be partially clogged before declogging it BUT if it is too clogged, than this becomes impossible ! Not to mention that the extra back pressure and T° stress the engine AND transform the big particules in the smaller and vicious one, all this at the expense of more fuel ???? So, this ECU is playing game all the time with the DSP and when it looses, YOU get stuck on the highway and loose big money !

So I bought Multiecuscan and the interface, found again the same errors Suzuki had noticed the first time and cleared them. Din't change any part. I did ran the car for 30km and no error ! OK, may be I should run it for more km but I was driving with an almost free exhaust !

Therefore I ordered a DPF eliminator, just a tube but it has the fitting for the DFP sensor. It looks like this could fool the ECU into believing that there is still a DPF but in pristine condition and as the tube will not clog, no pressure difference so may be the ECU will assume that no regeneration is required. Will check as soon as I get it.

I prefer to fool the ECU than to have it hacked. I played with bit and bytes in my younger times but as soon as there will be a firmware updgrade, the jacked code will be lost.

BUT, the ECU still hold info about this DPf (number of regen. failed regen. ...) as I understand and Multiecuscan resets all this when the regeneration function is performed.

What I would like is that to be able to reset these info once my DPF eliminator is installed BUT without initiating a regeneration of this TUBE :); In short just to be able to read and reset the DPf related info as for the other error codes.

Hi, the regeneration does not only takes place when the diff-pressure sensor gets over a certain value. In the ECU is a loading model stored and when this gets over 80% clogging the ECU will try to initiate a regeneration. The Post injection will burn in the catalyst and heat uo you pipe. So the only way is to modify the ECU code to turn off the regeneration.

When you say "loading model", you mean the ECU based on various param (time, speed, odometer ...) assumes that it is time to iniate a regeneration regardless of the pressure sensors ?

Therefore will it inject fuel that will be burned in this empty pipe. Now, as there is still a t° sensor the ECU will get the proper feedback and may I assume that the only inconvenience is wasted fuel ?

I just don't want to to hurry with the reprogramming. It looks like it is a hack of the ECU firmware, removing the DPF subprograms. I have to trust the guy who does it so he doesn't screw the ECU as it handles the electronic key system too.

I want to be able to revert back to the DPF in case the french "Controle Technique" rejects the car. To reinstall it, fine but what about flashing back the original firmware in say 20 months from now ?

What about reseting this "model" regularly via a new function of Multiecuscan ? Just an idea ? How often does this regen happens ? Despite all my problems, I never saw any DFP warning light came on (The only time I saw it is when I tested it via Multiecuscan) ?

I am in the learning phase. thank for your help.

You can flash back when you want (for EDC16) I can confirm.

Note that when I speak to re-flash in 20 months, I meant the guy who I contacted regarding the mod, may not be there anymore ?

So, I need to be able to do it myself.

He mentioned that for the Suzuki, because of the keyless system handled by the ECU, the safe way to do it was not via the OBDII port but via a plug in the ECU. The risk doing it via the OBDII interface is that in case something goes wrong this info would be lost and we are screwed. Via the internal port, we go directly via the "bootstrap loader" and so we can download all an exact image of the firmware and security data to be able to make a copy, modify it for the FAP, flash it back. To reverts, just flash back the original image.

Now, I want to be able to do it myself, at least the flashing of the images if not the code modification.

Hi, do not know which ECU you have in your car. If you have the EDC16C39 like I have it is save doing it via OBD (done it over 40 times). Look on my homepage for details.
Remapping I can do too and i am here in 20 month I think ;)

Indeed, it is a Bosch EDC16/C39 CF4/EODB in a Suzuki SX4, identical to the Fiat SEDICI but with a keyless ignition system.

Suzuki flashed a new firmare date
