HI,
I have Doblo 1.3 multijet 2008 / 3.3 Multiecuscan registered / Elm327 v1.4 said to be modified to solve cheap Chinese cable issue. complete with red/green/ yellow colored converters.
I can connect the ELM327 and access the body/dashboard/service modules but cannot access the the airbag and abs modules.
when I try to connect to abs.airbag I get message --cannot connect to ecu.
Thanks for any help

Re: ELM327 DOBLO ABS/AIRBAG/ PROBLEM
HI yani
I have been using Multiecuscan supported vehicles Doblo type119 1.3jtd interface recommendations, but I am not sure this is correct for my march 2008 1.3 dynamic multijet
please would you confirm that Doblo type 119 1.3jtd interface types are the correct ones for the multijet.
Thanks
John

Re: ELM327 DOBLO ABS/AIRBAG/ PROBLEM
Hi Yani,
I seem to be getting some very strange results when connecting to my Ecu, I think I am following the instructions properly.
I have a VAG KKL 409.2 interface cable with micro dp switches built in (4)
It will not work with any of the Doblos modules when none of the little switches are selected.
If I select switch 1 It will work ok with the engine module but no other modules.
If I select switch 1 and attach my red adapter cable it will work ok with the airbag module but if I use this vag with red adapter but no switches selected it will not work with any of the modules.
If I use this vag with no switches selected and the green adapter it wont work with any module but if I select switch 1 with the green adapter and connect to the abs module it connects but the Doblos dashboard goes crazy with bleeping and flashing light with OBD ERROR warning.
I also have a ELM 327v1.4 interface and that will connect with out adapter cables to dashboard/service/body modules ok but none of the coloured adapters work with any of the modules
with my own combinations I can connect to engine/airbag/dashboard/body but they don't seem to be the combinations recommended in your supported vehicles list but what ever I try I cannot connect to abs with the green cable. I wonder if its the issue of the short circuit between pins 1and 9 of this adapter cable that is driving my abs module crazy.
As far as I know the adapter cables are ok Red=A2/PIN3 GREEN=A1/PIN1 I have circuit tested them and they conform to your diagrams.
I ofcourse have registered version of Multiecuscan.
Thanks John

Re: ELM327 DOBLO ABS/AIRBAG/ PROBLEM
So, it seems that "Switch 1" on your interface connects the k-line to pin 7. So, when it is switched ON then all adapters work properly.
Are you sure that after connecting to ABS the message was "OBD error"? When you connect to the ABS it usually beeps and shows message on dashboard about ABS error. This is normal.
With the ELM interface you cannot connect to your ABS or Airbag modules as they use a protocol which is not supported by the ELM interface.

Re: ELM327 DOBLO ABS/AIRBAG/ PROBLEM
Hi Yani
So if I get a warning bleep when connecting to the abs module its normal.
I might be wrong about the warning message as I was in a hurry to disconnect after hearing the bleeping message.
So its ok to try again.
Thanks
John

Re: ELM327 DOBLO ABS/AIRBAG/ PROBLEM
Yes, the warning message is normal.
This is because when the ECU is in diagnostic mode the ABS does not function normally (it turns off) ... So, it is a kind of warning to the driver to be aware that the system is off.
After you disconnect from the ECU it goes back to normal operation....
The same thing happens when you connect to power steering.

Re: ELM327 DOBLO ABS/AIRBAG/ PROBLEM
Hi Yani,
Would I be wrong in assuming that if I wish to connect my Vag-Com 409 cable to --
The abs module then I should select switch1 and switch3 and if I wish to connect to ---
The airbag module then I should select switch 1 and switch 2
Thanks
John
