Until then have all my work area in the CAN interface

Could you ever set a picture of your board here?

Lots of very interesting posts about interfaces which are not working correctly.

Can some one give us a link for a known good tested interface / supplier ?

Many Thanks

The ELMs available from Gendan don't have the resistor problem, so they work with no modification.
See www.gendan.co.uk for UK sales, or search for items listed by "sitereams" for Ebay listings.
Not the cheapest, but that's why they work!

Hello
This is not easy, there are different configurations boards

but if the first left the ground (-), this can be seen on the board

from left to right.

4 +5 / 10 / 14 / 6 / 15 / 7 / 2 / 16

It is also possible that they recognize ground (-)

15 / 7 / 4 / 14 / 6 / 10 / 2 / 16

Hi there everybody,

I just now registered here, but are some days that i'm reading here and on the web about Car Diagnosis.

I bought on EBAY a OBDII ELM 327 Bluetooth adapter... it works great!

i have an Alfa Romeo 156 1.9 JTD 16v
and a FIAT Panda '03 1.2 8v

i tried FAS (the free version for now), and i had been able to reach the Engine ECU, but i had the problem on the panda to reach the CAN network! so just now i opened the device and destroyed the 04 resistor, i'm going to check if it works!

another problem has been that on the Alfa 156, i absolutely need to reach the ABS and AirBag ECU

for the AirBag, i read that theres no possibility to reach it with the ELM interface, I have to buy a KL.

but for the ABS... i read this

Bosch ABS 5.7 |INFO|DTC|PRM|ACT| KL 1ELM 1OBDKey 1 A1

and under the meaning of ELM1 i read

ELM 1 - ELM 327 v1.3+ interface with ADAPTER CABLE 1 (or modified interface with K-line connected to pin 1)

i ask to you... OR i buy (or create) the adapter 1 (that is displayed in the picture) OR i connect the connector connecting K-Line (Pin 7 right?) to the Pin 1???

because if is right... its easy... i just have to buy a 3 way switch.. and connect pin 7 to pin 7 (to work as ELM ) and switching to pin1 it would work like ELM1

please help me!

hopefully i hope that all those tryings are not dangerous for the health of the car's ECU.

surely if all is going to work i'm gonna buy FES because who worked on it MADE REALLY A GREAT JOB!!

i hope in an answer!!

i'll keep u informed about my device, i'm, now going to test it without the resistor on the PANDA.

EDIT : here I am back from the Garage where i tested the Device without the resistor... IT WORKS GREAT!!! i can access everywhere i just need the full version to enter in the body computer!
(what is possible to do entering in the Body Computer?)

i'm still waiting for someone to explain me if its possible to made a switch just changing pin 7 to 1

Thanks again!

Image

this is my idea about the circuit... is really easy... because there are no more than 4 connections with one switch.

if someone will say me that is a right way to do the adapter i'm going to make this tomorrow and test if it works!

You can modify your interface, but adaptor cables are easier.
See the software distributors list - http://www.multiecuscan.net/Distributors.aspx
Many of the distributors also sell adaptors.

Yes i know that the adapter are easy... but would be cheaper to modify my interface just connecting the kline pin 7 to pin1 to acces the abs ecu.
But i would like to have suggestions from someone who made it.
Would be necessary to attach the pin one on pin7 or put pin one INSTEAD of pin 7.

Its easy to do, but its a different way to conect cables.

Reading the diagrams, pin 1 and pin 7 must be cabled on k-line at the same time.

So would be this a solution for all kind of uses or i must install a switch to disable this modify when is not necessary to manage the abs ecu?

Today i'm going to buy the switch and try, nothing irreversibke, if doesnt work i put the original configuration again.

Still waiting for any suggestion

Dies kannst du so machen, es funktioniert
Aber du darfst diese Interface danach nicht mehr an einem Mito , Grande Punto usw. benutzen .
Da sonst der CAN Bus Probleme macht
