Punto 2000 model 1,9 jtd cant clear 5 fault codes??

Post by auto-service.dk »

im having trouble clearing 5 codes in engine management module.
it keeps coming back after i have changed the part thats it says is defective. example boost pressure sensor, egr valve, airflow meter all labeled defective but when it is changed it still comes up whit the error??
engine fault lamp glows and the engine is limited to 2800 rpm??

is it the module thats is defektive?? :( :(

thx

Thomas

all faults is
boost presure sensor (changed new part)
throtle actuator
egr valve (cleaned and moves perfectly)
ariflow meter (changed new part)
glowplug (changed 15.000 km ago)

You will probably see that depending on what fault codes you have, the full descriptions of the faults are:

Boost presure sensor circuit malfunction
throtle actuator circuit malfunction
egr valve circuit malfunction
ariflow meter circuit malfunction
glowplug circuit malfunction

This doesn't necessarily mean that the component are faulty. It's more likely to be wiring or connector faults.

As you have so many engine sensor faults, the problem could be a common earth connection somewhere or low battery voltage causing them.

Ok i will look for that tomorrow then :)

thx. :D :D

i believe the complete description on faults was "signal high" on airflow meter throttle actuator and boost sensor if thats helps but i must say that 5 faults is a bit to much at one time, but some can have been there for some time

If you can list the fault code numbers it would probably help

here are the faults :

P0236 - Boost pressure (2) invalid signal
P0638 - Throttle actuator (1) invalid signal
O0404 E.G.R device (5) invalid signal
P0101 - Mass air flow (2) signal high
P0380 - Glow Plug/heater Circuit (1) signal high

These faults cant be deleted ??

can someone tell me if i can by a ecu from a marea 1,9 jtd with 130 hk and put i on my punto 1,9 jtd ?? the bosch numbers on the ecu are the same execpt the last 2 digits... punto is xxxxxxxxx 55 and the marea is xxxxxxxxx 28 ?? would be nice to have a few extra hp :D :D

At first - you have cable problem. Check cables and connectors. Take a look on ECU pins carefully! All this sensors are in one cable. Check earth!
If you buy a new (old) ECU, you have to program it to your IMMO, or have to buy new (old) ECU with its IMMO

Why to change the ECU when there is no problem with ECU?!?
You have this errors:
P0380 - Glow Plug/heater Circuit (1) signal high
You need to change 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 glow plugs - dependes how meny died

P0404 E.G.R device (5) invalid signal
You need to repair your EGR system! It is probably full of dirt and it is not working!
Or somebody before you bought a car blocked the EGR valve! Just check it!

P0236 - Boost pressure (2) invalid signal
P0638 - Throttle actuator (1) invalid signal
P0101 - Mass air flow (2) signal high
It is easy! :) You need to change the MAF sensor! Be careful which MAF sensor you are buying because you can get same errors after some period even if you have brand new sensor! Check the serial number!

Changing of ECU will not change the problems! ;)

I think that last 4 errors are all depending from EGR.... it's possible however clean the MAF sensor before changing it.

Regarding error: P0236 - Boost pressure (2) invalid signal I had few experiences and each time when the solution was to change the MAF sensor.
Even after 6-8 months this error never came up! So it is a MAF sensor, not the EGR valve! ;)
