On Friday, 24th of June I tried to connect to Stilo 1.9 Multijet (2006), 120HP with Bosch EDC16C39. I used the newest FES and ELM1.4 (checked successfully with other cars). Connection OK, but I did not perform any tests, and odometer show only 25k even if it has 170k! Parameters were not OK.
Now, when I know that it support most news engines and ECUs I was determined to by license but after my last experiences I am a bit disappointed, connection with JTD - 115HP was OK but for older version of recent EDC16C39 not.
Can somebody comment this issue? Yani? Is that problem common/known? I did not checked previous version because I did not have it with me.
Yani, congratulations for good job, keep pushing with new ECUs and parameters.
Best regards,
Artur.

Re: Stilo EDC16C39 Tests problems!
Sorry, I cannot understand what the problem is.
So, you connect to EDC15C7 with no problems, but when you try to connect to a newer car with EDC16C39 it doesn't work?

Re: Stilo EDC16C39 Tests problems!
Hello Yani,
Yes, you are right! I succesfully connected to EDC15C7 (JTD 115HP - 2003, all parameters were OK, odometer showed similar value to cluster). During connection to EDC16C39 (Multijet 120HP - 2006) I saw:
1. (F2) - Info: ECU ISO Code, ... and ECU programming date - all look good,
2. (F3) - no errors,
3. (F4) - Parameters: Odometer ~ 25k (cluster showed 170k), no more significant parameters checked,
4. (F6) - Tests: unable to start any of them! Any cluster lights, FAN relays, etc. I saw only information code: 6052 = FAILED TO EXECUTE.
SUMMARY: ECU response OK, connected. Unable to perform any tests! Wrong parameters, like odometer.
Yani, can reprogramming of ECU cause these problems?
I understand that reproduction of this issue will be difficult, it can be unique, but it should be not observed.
Regards,
Artur.

Re: Stilo EDC16C39 Tests problems!
Hi,
It is completely normal to have this reading for the odometer parameter. It doesn't mean that it is "wrong". The value of this "odometer" has been discussed a lot. It is completely separate from the odometer reading on the instrument cluster. It could be changed by flashing the ECU. It could also show different value due to incorrect configuration of the type of speed sensor in the ECU.
The tests usually require certain conditions in order to execute properly. Some of the tests can be executed when the engine is running, but others can be executed when the engine is not running. If the conditions are not correct the ECU should respond with message "Incorrect conditions to run this test!". It is also possible that some versions/modifications of an ECUs does not support certain tests. In this case the error message is "Test NOT supported!".
So, the question is did you get any of these two messages when trying to run the tests?

Re: Stilo EDC16C39 Tests problems!
Yani,
I did these tests in not really comfortable conditions. Quick connection and check (we wanted to buy this one and the owner was not happy of our checking).
1. I have to get familiar with odometer topic (my understanding is: both: cluster and EDC should have similar values, if not it can be proof that somebody wanted to change something and is unreliable for me). Programming date was 2006 = production date (numbers in flash memory, can be modified), sensor should be configured properly.
2. In all cases: 6052 = FAILED TO EXECUTE. Engine was running (battery was unladen during start, the owner did not let us to switch of ignition). So, maybe that was the reason, but even in this case we should perform indication lights or fan speed? No information about test possibility or "Test NOT supported!"
Yani, is there any possibility to check FES with CAN nodes without license? Did you think about "one/three time running" possibility to be sure that it will work properly with all nodes before buying full license? It will be good future.
Thanks again for good job!
Artur.

Re: Stilo EDC16C39 Tests problems!
Artgt,
I have Fiat stilo with the same engine (just mine is VAN). Odometer value isn’t working indeed (mine shows 0).
All the “engine tests” that I tried are working correctly. (For some, as yani said you need your engine not running).
The only think I can’t do is proxy alignment. It simply can’t connect.
BTW, officially stilo Mjet’s are not supported by this software at all, nevertheless for most things it is working perfectly.
