Proxi alignment problem - Fiat Idea

Post by ARTE »

Hi,
my car is Fiat Idea 1.4 16V (2005)

After I changed Instrument Cluster to new (from Lancia Musa with white faces and chrome rings and outside temperature signal - in my old i've got the same display, but it didn't show outside temprerature at all), I tried to do proxi alignment. The procedure ends with success, it shows everything OK, even the temperature, but the odometer is still blinking and nothing is changed (except turn signals - they don't blink when I lock/unlock the central lock, but I found out how to change it).

Anybody has idea why it doesn't work?

Is it possible to change mileage (in my new Instrument Cluster the mileage is lower then the original) or I've got to go to Fiat Service?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Try to run the procedure a few more times.
Sometimes it doesn't pass the first time, but goes ok the second.

I've tried the procedure for at least 6-8 times (I've done this with two cables: ELM 1.3 i 1.4). Every time with the same results.

update:
I've tried today few times with FES 3.0.2 and proxi procedure failed (unknown error in log file), I've sent the report using FES form.

Does it mean that the Instrument Cluster from Lancia Musa isn't compatibile with my Fiat Idea?

I saw the log files. The alignment of the cluster simply fails without any error code or any clue what's wrong.
I don't have any logs from other Idea or Musa PROXI alignment and I really cannot confirm that the problem is caused by the different cluster.

OK, thanks for help. I'll try to get another Instrument Cluster to verify this.
