VAG KKL cable connections
VAG KKL cable connections
Hi just joined the forum and want to say hello.
I am a little confused as to the connections described in the "how to use" section and why cant pin 3 be permanently connected to pins 1 7 & 9.
The instuctions say that pin 7 is connected to pin 1 for airbag ECU and further on states that it is pin 3 which is correct
Can someone give a diagram or proper list of connections please . I am certain that other users would welcome this info
Thanks in anticpation

Re: VAG KKL cable connections
Hi,
The proper connections are:
pin 1 - ABS
pin 3 - Airbag
pin 7 - Engine/Gearbox
pin 9 - EPS
Here is what I can suggest for the cable:
1.Get a stock VagCom cable.
2.Then cut the connection between k-line and pin 7.
3.Then solder a microswitch to switch either k-3 or k-1-7-9. Where k is the k-line from the circuit board and 1,3,7,9 are the pins on the OBD connector.
Thanks for reporting that HowToUse mistake. It was just a typo.

Hi Yani,
Could you post a picture of what you describe? So that we can mimic your modification.
thanks.

Good idea. I want to install switch on my cable as well, but I'm thinking 4-position switch will be better.alfabug wrote:Could you post a picture of what you describe? So that we can mimic your modification.

Re: VAG KKL cable connections
Check attachment.
I pinned PIN 1-7-9 to a 4-position switch and then to the cutted k-line.
PIN 3 is not connected at the moment but would be possible.

Re: VAG KKL cable connections
How did you cut the k-line ?
Re: VAG KKL cable connections
Hi Hgbutte , I have just seen the cable with 4 pos dil switch and it looks very professional .
I get what you have done, but in the cable assembly that I got from Ebay which looks like the blue one of yours , however when the covers are removed the connection to pin 7 on the 16pin OBD connector is obscured with a small 6 pin single in line connector on to the main board and goes to 3 pins on the main circuit board.
It would be great if you could show the internal wiring of your kit and where the K line connection to pin 7 OBD is actually cut.
I am sure lots of users on the forum would be very gratefu, especially me.
Thanks and hope you can clarify the details

Re: VAG KKL cable connections
Hello,
In mine cable I have pin 1, 3, 7 & 9 all connected and working OK.
Why use a switch? Give it a try, maybe it also work for you.
