engine ECU is on passenger side, top of front suspension.
airbag ECU is on passenger side, behind the glove compartment

I tried the program for the first time today and it connected to my 99 Bravo 80SX -that's the 3 pin type connector- and I was able to read off the stored fault code and clear the code. Excellent!
Selecting "Parameters" made the program stop and go back to the start screen. With engine running then even after many attempts I could not make it connect. It would say "multiecuscan has encountered a problem and has to close" and after that it would not connect even with ignition at just MAR without engine running
After a laptop reboot it would do exactly the same, connect - check fault codes fine- say "multiecuscan has encountered a problem and has to close"- and then unabe to connect
