Stilo 1.6 2002 model

Post by eddy »

Hi, brought the cable and downloaded your software, yesterday we were unable to connect when we first tried. We have a number of fault codes, as we tried to bump start the car and when you do this all sorts of codes appear when the car fires up. All I want to do is delete the codes to stop the car moaning everytime its started. I am a beginner so excuse the ignorance, but can you tell me which Bosch I should select and if I have to connect pin 1?.. :)
Thanks Eddy

Hi,

Your engine is not supported by Multiecuscan yet.
The only supported module for your vehicle is the ABS module.

Thanks for the update, doyou have an eta for support of the 1.6 petrol Stilo?. Just to confirm I need to alter the pins to get to the ABS, is that correct.

Cheers

I have a fiat stilo 1.6 16V and i couldn't connect too. Looking up for my ecu type i found out that in the program there was a fiat multipla 2002 1.6 16V, also with a magneti-marelli ecu, but different type. And as as a mechanic i wondered "how much different can it be?". So i selected the ecu "magneti-marelli IAW 4AF/4EF/59F/5AF EOBD Injection" knowing that my ecu type was" IAW 5NF". I decided to press connect and i saw the info screen!!!!!!!!!! BUT with a message of false iso code ( i think). I pressed Y to continue and finally i was able to communicate with the ecu. I erased my fault codes, i saw live measurements of my car, i even run some actuators (some not all) and worked great. I took the above risk, knowing that i could damage my ecu. I don't encourage anyone else to try it. Anyone who tries it must know that he might end up with a fried ecu. But this worked for me. I hope this will help, even for the later versions of fiat ecu scanner, for an easier development.

Hi!
I have the same car, a Stilo 1.6 16V from 2002.
I have problem with the air bag, the sensor error. I just need to know if this software can read de erros from the air bag ECU, because I already change the sensor but the erro still... I need to check the ECU again..
Can somebody help me?

Thank you,

Stheo.

Stheo, I followed the instruction that Aristovoulos suggested posted below or above? , and this worked for me, but this was to reset an error in my engine ECU (You can end up with a lot of fault codes if you try and bump start a Stilo!). In summary I brought an OBD cable from ebay (about £11) downloaded Yanis software set the Com port and car type as suggested and was able to read and delete my code from the Engine ECU. What I think you need to do is as I have done with the cable, you will need Pin 1 and 7 connecting as per Yanis instruction on this site under "How to Use", then you can connect to the airbag ECU and read/delete the code, this is supported for our Stilos.

Hope this helps.

Aristovoulos Thank's for Your informations. I did just the same like You. I have Stilo 1.6 16V 2003. And the results :
ECU ISO code 0D 07 98 01 02
FIAT drawing number 55189584
BOSCH hardware number IAW5NFHW102
BOSCH hardware version 0
BOSCH software number 2616K34A
BOSCH software version 0
ECU programming date 05/19/2003

P0606 - ECU faulty (6) Invalid signal Stored Light ON
P0300 - Misfires detected (1) Signal high Fatal Light ON
P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Signal high Fatal Light ON

PCM/ECM Processor Fault
The reason for this fault is that ECU has received invalid signal from the sensor. The fault is not detected now, but it is stored in memory. Clear fault codes, and observe for future appearance of the same fault. Dashboard warning light was activated for this fault.

The errors are still present and engine working unstable. What about the sensor? Which sensor? Can anyone help me?
Sorry for my pure English.

Happy new year everybody, i hope you have enjoyed your vacancies ( i did very much ).
Pawzdy, i believe your stilo has a damaged ignition coil on 1st cylinder, that's probably the reason of the misfires and the unstable working. That's a common problem on stilos, as i have read in stilo forums.
About the "sensor" now, my mind goes to the rpm sensor, because it is placed in front of the timing belt, together with the a/c and the water pump/alternator belt ( if i remember right) and practically under the engine. It's a place where water or dust or anything can reach and come between the sensor and the gear. This may be another reason of the problem. I keen, though, to the first cause.
I hope i was helpful

Thank you for your good wishes and answer my post. Is worse, engine not start for three cylinders (too cold, i think). I bought an ignition coil and exchanged at any position (i don't know which position is first). Unfortunately, the engine is not started. I exchanged the spark plugs too. Hereinafter the same, any suggestions?

Thanks for the Multipla workaround, worked for my 2003 (53) fiat stilo 1.6 3dr dynamic (has traction control abs ect)

dont have the cahonas to select the reset fault list, will wait on yani adding the correct ecu to the list.
