vLinker MS

Post by PCalhoun »

I am a new MES user and am having difficulty getting the vLinker MS to stay connected to my Windows 11 laptop.

It connects, but then immediately disconnects within 2 seconds and will not reconnect. I have tried alternate BT settings in the PC, searched Google and YouTube, but nothing changes the connection status. It did connect fine to my iPhone, but my preference is to use my PC for diagnostic work on my Alfa Giulia QV. A 2017, which should not require a SGW bypass.

It appears to be a hardware issue between the PC and vLinker, but what am I missing for those that have experienced a similar issue?

I'm using latest win11 on my laptop and I have the same issue, the BT connects and drops within 2 seconds and it won't connect again, really frustrating.

Hi,

I thought I had the same problem as you at first, it was driving me nuts.

What helped in my case was going into **Preferences → Interfaces**, then clicking **Scan for interfaces**, selecting the correct interface and the correct COM ports, and running the "Test" button.
In my case even though Windows shows the vlinker as "not connected," the interface test shows traffic, which means the connection is actually working - and indeed I can connect to all my vehicule's ECUs with MES.

I know some BT car dongles need to be coupled with some tweaks in the advanced windows BT parameters, might be the case here - tbh I didn't dig much, as it's quite working that way in my case ;)
