Hello to all
Please be nice it's my first post here. Of course if my message is wrong or at the wrong place, may the moderator just nuke it into oblivion.
As said in the tin. I have a very tedious problem with my Fiat (2011, 216 000 km in 14 years next months). On the highway, past 3500 rpm and 110 km per hour the "problem light" (so unuseful !) flashes and the car goes into degraded mode, losing power and slowing down to 80 km per hour. Also the start&stop light cannot be shut down (WDF ??!!!).
I tried four different scans (Fiat, garage, my stepbrother's and my own) and - nada, zilch. All I have is a P302. I have a sneaking suspicion it might be the phonic wheel in need of a reset, seems to be a common issue with 1.2 8V Fiat engines, - albeit my previous 1996 Punto, same FIRE engine, never, ever did this.
So in despair I bought Multiecuscan, put it on a an old laptop and bought an USB-OBD2 adapter. I intend to explore what's wrong in my car rotten electronic brain, but I need your help and advice. Where should I start ?
Grande Punto 1.2, going degraded mode on the highway
