Another Uconnect 5" to 7" Upgrade Proxy Alignment help request - Fiat 500 1.2 Lounge 2016

Hi all,

Long time reader and have finally decided to dive in and try to upgrade my current UCONNECT 5" to a UNCONNECT 7".

I have found a donor stereo - Continental VP2 312 EMEA DAB NAV w/o Carplay, I presume carplay can be activated on this via proxy alignment?

My first question is, once the new stereo is installed, do you complete a proxy alignment without any settings altered first and from this point, enter custom proxy aligment settings (increase to 193 bytes and alter bytes 30, 38, 121, 123, 130, 157 and 160 as required?)

Or do you install the new system, and carry out a proxy alignment with settings altered

I have not attempted to install yet but have saved the original proxy settings. Do I alter these now (offline) to 193 bytes etc, install new unit and then copy and paste into custom proxy window and execute, or install the new unit, go into proxy alighment and from the proxy settings now displayed alter to 193 bytes etc and then execute?
