No Log or CSV files generated

Looking for help! Had MES 5.2 installed on old Surface Pro 7, no issues until Surface went belly up. Exchange Surface Pro 7 from Microsoft seems to work well. Have installed MES 5.2 on it and communication with car is fine but no log files or CSV files are ever found. Have downloaded and repaired 5.2 twice with no effect. Log file on hard drive has address of ‪C:\Users\rudol\Documents\Multiecuscan_LOGS which was copied and pasted into LOGS field on settings popup in MES. Similar for CSV files. Why aren't files being generated? If they are being generated, where might they be? Thanks for any pointers!

check folder where MES is installed.

MES files are in x86 program files. There are two log files there from several days ago when I did not yet have files for logs and CSVs set up. Nothing recent has shown up there or anywhere else (according to search) so I'm getting the idea that these files are not being generated.
