500x sgw brake service

Post by rhett71 »

Can I use MES to get the car into brake service mode even if it is a 2019 model with SGW? Can anyone answer if it will work and what version I need to buy if it is possible?

If you have an SGW then basically ALL write/command modes are filtered out / blocked.

However you can manually release the parking brake and then disconnect the battery to ensure it can not be engaged again.

This will allow you to remove the caliper and brake pads etc. If you web search the you will find information and guides on what to do next.

Unfortunately that is what I thought, it seems a bit poor that my Alfa Stelvio has it fitted for everyone to see and yet the 500X has no option at all for a home DIYer!!

For this cases, apply SGW bypass and set Brake pads service menu and run proxialignment... You will see Brake Maintenance Menu in your Uconnect - After touch it fully opens calipers for pads service...
