I have an Australian spec 2017 Abarth 595 that used to have a UConnect5" PN:07356556170 and I just got a UConnect7" from an Australian spec 2021 Abarth 595 PN: 07357358580.
Before pulling the 7" from the donor car I confirmed all was working fine (including Apple CarPlay).
Once installed in my 2017, it powered up and I entered the unlock code and it works fine (but no CarPlay and the odo is flashing).
Tried a prox alignment and it failed with Request Out of Range. I'm a bit of a newbie to MES but have done this sort of thing before on VWs.
Here is the log:

Ok, so I was perusing the forums and this custom set stops the ODO flashing, BUT the Carplay is still not working

I have the USB+LineIN External Media Port (Type 2) is that compatible?
Also, just dropping it here because not obvious from the user interface, to get to custom proxy window you need to hit CTR-ALT-C (or CTR-OPT-C on the Mac running Parallels) to get to that window. They really should have that part more clearly documented.

So after all that headache, the problem with the CarPlay was the cable. When I tested my cable on the donor car (with 2 USB ports in the center console) it worked fine. On my car with the AUX+USB center console that cable didn't work. With an official Apple cable it works fine.
I also wrote up my whole process with pics here: https://www.vk2.net/articles/Abarth-UConnect%205-to-7-Upgrade
