Good morning,
New to this whole SWG world, and cannot get a clear defined answer whether or not my 03/2018 build for North America was shipped with a SWG. I can access body control module, brake module with grey cable, I am able to login to the instrument cluster and reset the date and mileage for service, however I cannot access the CAN BUS module. I am trying to determine whether or not the settings are just incorrect for the ELM 327 timers etc. or this is due to swg in series with vehicle. Attached is my module list if that helps. I can execute body control commands such as horn, turn signal etc.. Thank you for any advice/ answers.

Alfa Stevlio QV SWG/ ELM327 question
Re: Alfa Stevlio QV SWG/ ELM327 question
if you can delete errors, perform/activate some tests then you don't have SGW.
what do you mean by CAN bus module? there is no such thing. if you are talking about CAN Setup/Proxi which you can't access then you should check your settings. MES includes manual how to setup everything.

Re: Alfa Stevlio QV SWG/ ELM327 question
Thank you. Yes I cannot access the can setup /proxi. Just get the recommendation to select high-speed elm327 however I did not try adjusting timers etc.
Re: Alfa Stevlio QV SWG/ ELM327 question
I had similar issue back in 2017 on my 500X.

Thank you for checking this so quickly.
I think that you did a mistake in the configuration. You have to select interface type as “ELM 327 1.3/1.4/1.4b/2.1 (High Speed)”. It is the last item on bottom of the list. Then leave the port settings at 38400.
The speed of the ELM interface is automatically changed to 115200 during a diagnostic session by Multiecuscan. After disconnecting it is restored back to 38400.
At the time Yani raised a concern that although all ELM modules should support higher speeds
All interfaces should be able to work at 115200, 230400, 500000 and even higher. I’m just not sure how stable this runs on the large variety of Chinese circuits.
The OBDLink can also work at higher speeds, but they seem to have better buffering than ELM as we do not have problems
On the Jeep Renegade there were still some issues so MES 3.5R2 used 230400 instead. Since 2017 & MES 3.5R2 I've not had issues and I assume that the current MES uses 230400 for Proxi connections on all vehicles.
Personally since then I've stuck with OBDLINK SX.

Thank you for the recommendation to go with obd sx
Re: Alfa Stevlio QV SWG/ ELM327 question
You are welcome.
I can not guarantee that an OBDLINK SX interface will solve your problem. If it does not at least your have extra information etc. to throw in MES Support's direction.
Please report back on how you get on!
