Hello everyone,
I have a Fiat 500 1.4 sport 2008 that kept displaying the "Hill holder / ESP not available" message that we traced to a faulty stop switch (multiecuscan even showed the error message).
Now, before the replacement, the dashboard light would go off immediately after starting the car and the message would be displayed.
I bought a new switch and replaced the old one (which had an obvious issue with the moving press-pad). I connected multiecuscan and reset the error.
However, even though the error light is not on when I start the car it always comes back up after a 5min drive.
Any suggestions on what the actual issue might be?

Re: Fiat 500 stop/break switch (Hill holder not working)
There are at least TWO pedal switches. One detects bottom of travel reached/released and one at top of travel that drives the break light etc.

Ooooh, i didn't know that!
I swapped this one here which is located behind the pedal itself and is visible if you crouch down
