I’m having a problem with seeing some control modules in a Fiat 500 2013 which I would appreciate some advise on.
The issue started with the airbag warning lights being constantly on along with the fuel cut off warning message and flashing odometer. Using Multiecuscan (registered) and OBDLink SX, a scan is unable to see the presence of the airbag module. (and now also the Blue & Me module which was previously working)
The car had the usual problems which have been repaired. e.g. broken hatch wiring and engine earth strap. The battery has also been tested and is good.
I have disconnected the battery many times to reset the ecu and carried out multiple scans. At one point it successfully picked up the airbag module and I was able to carry out a proxi alignment and connect to it and no errors were reported. However after a few minute it disappeared again and the airbag warning message has come back on. I’m wishfully thinking that the airbag module is ok as it was picked up once so could something else cause it to disappear again? (Disconnecting the battery a number of times since have not successfully brought it back)
Could it be a problem with the can bus? Would signal reflection cause this and if so which modules have the 2 resistors so it can be checked? Also would it be worthwhile disconnecting the blue&me module in case this was bringing down the airbag module and if so could this be done without taking off the rear side panel which looks to be a pain? e.g. by removing a fuse (radio?) for example?
I’m no expert and probably should get a man in and pay a lot of money to fix a relatively cheap car but if I can track down the cause then hopefully the cost to fix would be more palatable.
Has anyone experience the same issue and managed to fix it? or can give me some advise as I’m running out of ideas.
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Modules not present when they should be
Try unplugging the blue and me module and do a proxy allignment, the module can cause a lot of strange problems.
