trying to use cantiecar interface after long inactivity

Dear all
I would like to use my Multiecuscan and cantiecar interface again after a few years of inactivity.
I thought I best update the interface first, having plugged it into the office computer to do the firmware update, everything worked as should and the lights flashed as stated, but now I have a dead interface. I get an address violation when I plug in the usb lead plus windows tells me there is a fault with the usb drive. Not sure what to do next, I know I will have to re-new my licence to use the multiecuscan program at 50 euros but I didnt think I would crash the cantiecar.
any help would be appreciated interface is version 2.1 serial number wtcadmXX (not sure if I should divulge serial number)

I'm not a Cantiecar interface owner or user but if it were me then I would be contacting Cantiecar directly. AND ALSO the vendor you bought you Cantiecar interface from. They will / should know more about the interface etc. than most people here.
