K-Line/VAGCOM or ELM 327

instructions say in Settings set Interface type to K-line then next paragraph says Elm327 is better more advanced. I have both options to choose from. car is 2017 Giulia 4cyl and have interface for that vehicle, OBD-Protect. What one should i use? Thanks

you choose option depending on your adapter not the one which is more advanced. and K-line won't work on Giulia

I use a cantiecar interface and it works really well, no adaptors and a really good and reliable connection. And it works with old and new vehicles
