New to to fiatecumultiscan/ alfa gtv916 phase 2

Post by P51mustang »

hi all
just getting myself set up to use multi scan to clear fault codes etc On a 98 phase 2 alfa gtv mostly the very annoying habit of these cars to show there airbag lights at even the thought of moving the seat lol . as the car is a long term item i thought it good to invest in this so I can sort this fault myself .I have a windows 7 laptop and i believe the free version is enough to do the airbag along with the correct lead adpator . any advice hints would be helpful thanks in advance

Should work OK with the free version, BUT ONLY IF YOU USE A VAG KKL interface and the correct adaptor.

My Barchetta has the same TRY MY 97 airbag system and ELM and OBDLINK inferfaces will not connect to the airbag ECU.

If you have a vag/kll obd connector and the 3 pin adapter, you have to disconnect the L line in the 3 pin adapter. Otherwise you will get a connect time out / failure message from the multiecuscan program. so get an adapter or make a switch yo disconnect the L Line.

Fireup your PC/laptop. Connect Interace so Windows can see it. Plug into car. Turn ignition on. Start MES, select vehicle & node (ECU, ABS, ....) then hit CONNECT and work from there. This way/sequence should always work.

Other sequences can also work but it is best to adopt the sequence that works for you reliably.

If you have the adapter set " Red / yellow / greean adapter " you can take the green connector and set it between the KKl cabel and the 3 pin adapter. And then you should connect to the airbag modul.
