Connecting to ABS or PAS causes malfunction

Post by Xen »

This is on an early 2002 Stilo 1.2 16v

I modified my K-line interface to bridge pins 1, 7, 9. When I plug it in, the cars fine. However, as soon as I connect to either the PAS or ABS, the car starts beeping and comes up with PAS Failure or ABS/ASR Failure respectively. I can still connect to the systems though, but can't read values due to the car disabling them. If I disconnect and restart the car, its fine again until I reconnect.

I thought it might be because of bridging 3 pins together, so i removed the connection to pin 9, so i just had 1 bridged to 7. Same problem.
