UNKNOWN/UNSUPPORTED message for Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 16V T-Jet/StarJet

Post by oldmanhouse »

Is the Bosch ME7.6.3 engine ECU supported for Grande Punto 1.4 16V MY2008?

I get this message when using SCAN:
Scan vehicle for available modules...

Engine / ECM
UNKNOWN/UNSUPPORTED
ISO Code: 7C 86 4C 85 A8
I have attached picture of my ECU model details:

Your ECU is supported but NOT for the Grande Punto.

Try selecting the "Panda 06 1.4 16V" which also has the Bosch ME7.6.3 ECU

Thanks for the suggestion, I did already try that and get the "Connection Failed, ELM327->ECU Connection Failed" error message.

If I connect to the "Bosch Motronic Me7.9.10 CF5/EOBD Injection (1.4 16V)" under the Grande Punto 1.4 16V menu, I get an "Invalid ISO Code" error but some parameters are readable anyway. Some are very wrong like the Battery voltage and the Odometer, but some things like Clutch or Brake pedal pressed/released is reading correctly.

I suppose the ECU for Panda 06 1.4 16V is not quite the same as the Grande Punto, even if the model number (ME7.6.3) is the same.
