Airbag ECU error - both pre-tensitoner resistances 655.35 ohms

Post by ogaryo »

Hi, I am investigating a Airbag warning light on a Fiat Ducato x250 2.3 multijet year 2012 that has an airbag light on after starting the engine a week or so ago, it's not been in a crash and was working fine the previous day. scan codes are as follows:

READING ERROR CODES:

1. B0106-1B - Driver's pretensioner resistance ERROR DETAILS: Operating time 62094 min Odometer 35220.0 km Battery voltage 14.300 V Vehicle speed 0 km/h
2. B0107-1B - Passenger pretensioner resistance ERROR DETAILS: Operating time 62094 min Odometer 35220.0 km Battery voltage 14.300 V Vehicle speed 0 km/h
3. B0127-13 - Driver's seat belt switch ERROR DETAILS: Operating time 62040 min Odometer 35213.0 km Battery voltage 14.200 V

I've cleaned the connectors under the seat and tried clearing the codes to no avail which is expected I guess as you'd not expect both seats to go at the same time so must be something more central to the system

The parameters are interesting for the pre-tensioners as they are weirdly exactly the same

READING PARAMETERS: Driver pretensioner resistance 655.35 Ohm Passenger pretensioner resistance 655.35 Ohm

Remove the decimal place and that is the highest value for a 16 bit register (65535) so a software rather than hardware issue is suspected.

Getting on to my plea for help.. has anyone come across this before please ? and if so, what did it turn out to be and were you able to get it resolved? the guys at crashdata say they've never come across it before.. the Airbag ECU or could it be a bug in multiECUscan incorrectly reading the values (probably not but worth asking)

Hope someone can help.

All the best Gary
