FES 2.1: invalid ISO code on a Fiat Punto ’99 1.2 8v

Hi there!
I’ve connected FES 2.1 free to my Punto ’99 1.2 8v via a VAG COM cable.
When I try to connect I get the message “Invalid ISO code, press Y to Continue or Press N to Abort”. No matter which of the two ECU options I choose on the main page: “Magneti Marelli IAW 4AF/4EF/59F/5AF EOBD Injection” (I live in Italy) or “Magneti Marelli IAW 4AF/4EF/59F/5AF Injection (Outside EU version)”.

As far as I know this is one of the first produced Punto Mk2. Maybe its ECU is not on FES database?

These are the parameters shown by FES:
- ECU ISO code: 0D 07 0D 98 0E
- FIAT drawing number: 46760606
- Hardware number: IAW59FHW002
- Hardware version: 00
- Software number: 1702-MFL
- Software version: 0000
- Homologation number: 000000
- ECU programming date: 01/10/2000

I don't know, maybe your ecu is not supported but it's strange...
did you try other 1.2 8v ecu from punto '03 o panda?

visto che sei italiano, strano che ti dia invalid iso code.
come dicevo sopra, per ora, mi verrebbe da consigliarti di provare le altre ecu "simili" alla tua motorizzazione.
prova la punto '03 12.8v o la panda etc....vedi se una di quella risulta compatibile.

Thank for your reply. The only Fiat cars where I can try multiecuscan are a Mk2 '99 Punto and a '08 Panda, but the latter needs a ELM interface and actually I only own a VAG cable. (Just to depict the full picture, a friend of mine has lend to me the laptop for the try. Now he's out for work and I can do another test next week.)
Maybe my ECU is not recognized because it is one of the first releases for this car?

Grazie per la risposta. Le uniche auto su cui posso provare il programma sono una Punto del '99 e una Panda del '08, ma quest'ultima ha bisogno dell'interfaccia ELM e io attualmente ho solo il cavo VAG. (a dirla tutta, il portatile usato per le prove me l'ha prestato un amico che adesso è fuori per lavoro, quindi un'altra prova potrò farla la prossima settimana).
Forse la mia ECU non è riconosciuta perché è una delle prime versioni prodotte per questo modello?

That's strange because every engine ecu should corrently accesible via K line; as you can see on the bottom of home-page.
Engine ECU CAN-only will be supported on next release of the software.

Right now I think only Yani could answer you without supposing.

dalla lista delle cose supportate mi sembra di capire che le ecu motore son tutte accessibili via K-line.
le uniche ecu accessibili solo via can sono servosterzo e service reset.
Tra l'altro nella home puoi leggere che le ecu connesse solo via CAN saranno accessibili dalla prossima versione quindi quelle attuali non lo sono.

io con il cavo vag sono riuscito a connettermi alla punto '03 1.2 8v di mio papà e alla panda '03 di mia mamma (anche se quest'ultima mi ha dato l'invalid iso code, però non sapevo di dover scegliere io il tipo di ecu, pensavo lo facesse in automatico il software...)

Hi,

Your ECU is an earlier version of IAW59F which is used only in oldest Punto mk2 and oldest Palio.
It is not supported by Multiecuscan, but you can use IAW 4AF/4EF/59F/5AF and ignore the invalid ISO message. I don't have time now to check what are the differences between the new and old version, but at least the error codes should be the same.

I can confirm that pressing Y and ignoring the ISO error warning message the program is usable.
I was able to read errors (F3) and to do some actuators check (F6).
But I wasn't able to see live parameters (F4), with/without engine running, (but as I'm writing I realized that I didn't checked any entry... next week I will repeat this test and keep you informed).
